Special Delivery is here!!!!

Administrative Assistant Layla Reynolds has loved the Christmas holiday ever since she was a little girl, but she hasn’t been able to enjoy it since beginning to work for Preston Scott at Director Enterprises. Her tyrant of a boss hated the holiday and now she was stuck with him for two weeks at his house during a snow storm.Would she be able to make him enjoy the holiday or would his rotten mood rub off on her?

CEO and founder of Director Enterprises Preston Scott wasn’t a man known to celebrate the Christmas Holiday for any reason. He didn’t see anything wrong with working right through it to the next year. So, why after one day of having the mocha skinned beauty Layla Reynolds in his house he wanted to celebrate the holiday in a whole different way?

"Special Delivery" Christmas Story unedited exceprt

RELEASE DATE: DECEMBER 22nd

Standing inside the office’s open doorway, Layla watched Preston work away at the laptop on his Maplewood desk. She was still wrapping her mind around the fact that she was here at her boss’s house for fourteen days. Preston Scott was a very handsome man. He probably had an address book full of woman willing to suck his toes for a night in his home and bed.
So, why was he spending all of the Christmas holiday with her? Didn’t he know how to treat a woman right, maybe, and that’s why he had an ex-wife instead of a wife? She was really blown away that Preston didn’t seem to care that a stranger was with him. Hmmm…maybe there was some underlining factor she could find out about. She really enjoyed learning what made people tick.
“Miss Reynolds, if you’re done sizing me up, do you mind coming in here?” Preston exclaimed without looking up from his computer.
Busted!
“Sorry, sir, I was only wondering why you’re not upset by the fact you have to spend your holidays with me. A woman that you barely know instead of a loving family member or a girlfriend,” Layla exclaimed, coming into the room. The fire over to the side made the room all nice and cozy. She noticed the snow was continuing to fall at a steady pace out the window to the left of Mr. Scott’s desk. It made her homesick even more.
“You’re an attractive young woman. Why didn’t you turn down my offer?” Preston inquired as his ultramarine eyes shot up and held hers waiting for an answer. He rested his elbow on the desktop and stared at her with an intensity that made her want to squirm, but she didn’t. “Isn’t there some young man that you want to sneak under the mistletoe?”
‘I’m swearing off men for a while, not it’s any of your business, Mr. Scott,” she answered. Why would she be telling her boss this? They didn’t have that kind of relationship. Hell, they had only known each other for a total of three, maybe four hours, tops.
A dark masculine eyebrow arched while one side of Preston’s mouth kicked up, popping out a deep dimple. “I did reject your offer; however, I changed my mind because right now I’m swearing off men.
“Swearing off men….isn’t that a little much for someone as young as you?” He inquired. “What happened, bad boyfriend experience? Did he cheat on you? Or was he not attentive enough to your needs?”
Frowning, Layla crossed her arms over her breasts and glared at her boss as she came closer to the desk and went around the side. “What’s with all the questions? Are you asking so you can fill that spot in my life?” she tossed back, enjoying the shocked looked that passed over Preston’s face before he concealed it.
She stood perfectly still as Preston’s eyes ran the length of her body starting with her eyes and slowly working their way down until they landed at her boot-covered feet. She tried to keep her pulse from racing, but her body never got that hot from just a look. Oh, Preston was sexy without even trying to be. She was going to be in a lot of trouble for the next two weeks, especially if he looked at her that away again. Her breath caught in her throat when his bluish-green eyes lingered on her breasts longer than they should have.

Blog Review

The Story Board Blog Review

This week I visited Marie Rochelle's blog. You can check it out here:

http://shopdiva28.blogspot.com/

Marie is an up and coming interracial romance writer. She uses her blog in a more professional manner, sharing with the reader excerpts, new book covers, where she'll be chatting and when her books will be released.

My favorite thing about Marie's blog? The thought provoking questions she asks. There are some great ones, such as:

- "If you could spend one night with any man in the world who would it be and why?"

- "What two famous people would you like to see on the cover of an IR novel ?"

Let me tell ya, she got a lot of great answers to these questions.

I enjoyed the excerpts she shared, they definitely gave me a peek inside her books to see what they're about and Marie's writing style.

She also has a lot of fans! Reading over her comments, they made me smile. They love her books and beg for future release dates. How wonderful! Marie, you should be proud of the fact you touch so many people!

Now I gotta go out and buy a few Marie Rochelle books myself…

Again, her blog address is: http://shopdiva28.blogspot.com/

Until next Monday, when I'll be reviewing Stacy Dawn's blog…

Excerpt (unedited) from Devilishly Yours: Sequel to BestSeller Taken by Storm

“Come on Sergeant Webster don’t put me on leave now. I swear that I’m okay.”
“No, you haven’t been the same since you came back from you last undercover assignment. I want you to take six weeks off.” Sergeant Webster insisted flinging the file down on his clutter free desk. Leaning back in the leather chair his no sense boss stared at him. “You’re a young man. Take this time off to find a woman. I don’t want you to become a work alcoholic like me.”
“I’m not a work alcoholic. I love being a cop.” Ryan Lerner insisted. “When the right woman comes along I’ll settle down but until then I want to stay busy and working is the only thing for me.”
He didn’t want to take this bogus leave of absence his over protective boss was trying to toss his way. He had to keep his mind off his last assignment. He knew what happened to Syleena’s Webster mother wasn’t his fault. Vivian Webster was a first class whore, but she didn’t deserve to be stabbed twenty times by one of her prostitutes.
“I swear that I’m fine, Sergeant,” he insisted. “Let me have the latest jewelry robbery case.
Standing up his friend and boss for the past four years placed his hands face down on the desk, “Stop asking me to take back your vacation time. You know that it’s mandatory that I do this. At least I’m not sending you to the department shrink.” Sergeant Webster said. “It’s Halloween night. Go home and pass out candy to those adorable kids in your neighborhood.”
His left hand shot up from the desk and a finger pointed toward the door. “Ajana Bennett isn’t your case or problem. Don’t add any extra stress to your life. I’ve noticed how you can’t take your eyes off her picture inside the file. Yes, she’s a very attractive young woman but she is more dangerous than two cobras loose in your bed at night.” Sergeant Webster continued.
“But I was the one who figured out Ajana was the burglar stealing from all the local jewelry stores. It isn’t fair another cop will get the credit for bringing her in.” Ryan complained. He was tired of taking a back seat like Sergeant Webster had ordered him to do for the past couple of months. He wanted to be back out there in front with the other men.
“Hell, it wasn’t your case in the first damn place.” Sergeant Webster sighed falling back down into his seat. “Jones was all over this case until you talked to that reporter.”
Ryan shrugged. “Can I help it if she fell for my charm? Plus who knew I would look so damn good on television?”
“Now isn’t the time for your humor. Miss Bennett stole a priceless jewel from her last robbery. We need to find both of them ASAP.”
“Good, I’m glad you see it my way.” Ryan uttered sitting down overlooking the hard glares tossed his way. “I’ve talked to some people that know Ajana and I think she might be back in town.”
Ryan wanted to solve this case more than anything to prove he still had it. That whole thing with Syleena turned out badly. This was a clean slate he was working with now. Sergeant Webster had to give him another chance to prove his skills as a good cop.

My new book Devilishly Yours Blurb....

Atlanta undercover detective Ryan Lerner took his vow to uphold the law to heart and went by the book no matter what the case was. He loved being a law enforcement officer and swore to maintain that opinion until he retired. Never before had he let his personal feelings get in the way of bringing a criminal in. So why was his resolve tested on his next case involving the eye-catching dark toffee skinned ‘cat burglar’ named Ajana Bennett?
Ajana Bennett didn’t like how Detective Ryan Lerner accused her of being the Atlanta jewel thief two nights before Halloween. So she decided to take matters into her own hands. All she had to do was prove her innocence to him by any means necessary and Ryan was a very sexy man so she didn’t mind spending Halloween or any other night with him.
Would Ajana prove her innocence in time or would Ryan be left holding the bag in…..Devilishly Yours?

Excerpt (unedited) From Loving True Coming Soon from Ocean's Mist Press

“I should have known she would be right on time.” Hayward tossed the potholder on the tabletop. His footsteps ate up the short distance between the kitchen and the front door. He couldn’t believe how excited he was about this date. He ran his sweaty palms down the front of his pants. True didn’t have a clue what a big step this was for him. Blowing out a quick breath, he opened the door. “Hi, I’m glad you could make it.”
“Thank you,” True replied.
His hand tightened around the doorknob True looked like a vision with the moonlight shining behind her. He prayed he would be able to keep his hands to himself all night. Her pink shirt hugged her every curve and didn’t leave anything to his imagination.
“Wow something smells delicious,” True uttered.
He also smelled the spicy scent of the lasagna in the oven drifted toward them from the kitchen. But that wasn’t the scent that held his attention at the moment. “Yes, you do.” Hayward groaned taking a light whiff of True’s perfume.
“Hayward, is there a reason I can’t come in?” True asked staring up at him.
He quickly took a step back. “No, there isn’t. Please come in.” He opened the oak door wider. Flashing him a smile, True brushed past his body and walked into the house. “What did you bring for dessert?” He closed the door behind them and followed her into the living room.
“I made a yellow cake with chocolate icing.”
“How did you know cake was my favorite dessert?” He asked taking the cake from her hands. “Why don’t you follow me to the kitchen?” He turned, then headed in the direction of the kitchen
“You have a breathtaking home.” True mumbled behind him. “I hate to admit that I’m a little jealous.”
He had looked at her house first before deciding to buy this one. His house design differed from hers with its vaulted ceilings. Four wide-open windows on the far wall overlooked beautifully landscapes backyard. Plus his breakfast nook was separate from the kitchen area with it’s own window.
Hayward placed the warm cake in the middle of the marble island and took one last whiff of the mouth-watering sweetness. “Thanks again for bringing dessert.” He stared at True in the kitchen doorway and his pulse quickened at the sight of her. “True, you don’t have to hover in the doorway. I won’t bite you if you come in here.”
He watched True ease away from the door and come toward him. Once again she proved she wasn’t intimidated by him. “Thank you again for inviting me to dinner. A home cooked meal bets a TV dinner any day of the week.” She commented standing mere inches in front of him.
Hayward hid his smile. “You’re welcome.” His gaze traveled over her face, then moved over her body slowly. Why did she have to look so perfect all the time? “I didn’t think you would actually show up,” he confessed. The sweet intoxicating scent of her body overwhelmed his mind and body. It was hard for him to keep a rational thought.
“How much longer until the food is done?”
“If I tell you something, you can’t laugh.”
Tilting her head to the side True stared at him and he could tell her curiosity was aroused. “Okay, I promise I won’t laugh.”
“I was so excited about our date that I turned on the oven timer, but I forgot about the oven. He glanced at her face for any kind of expression. A very tiny smile touched her lips. “Hey, you promised not to laugh.” He waved his finger toward the slight smile on her lips. “Don’t you dare laugh at me anyone could have made the same mistake.”
“I’m not laughing,” True whispered pressing two fingers to her mouth.
Hayward couldn’t take his eyes off her because the smile lit up her entire face. “Do you know how much I want to kiss you?” The second the words left his mouth, the light went out of her face. Shit, why did I have to say that to her? His brows drew into a frown when she eased away from him. He needed to save the situation fast or this date was over.

Taken by Storm is Number #!

I can hardly sit still. I was over at OMP Website and under Bestsellers "Taken by Storm" was in the top spot. Now I can call myself a best selling author. Can you believe it?

I really want to thank everyone who took their time and hard earned money to purchase my first IR romance book.

Hopefully everyone will fall in love with Hayward and True the way they did with Storm and Syleena.

I haven't gotten a release date on "Loving True" but as soon as I do I'll let everyone know.

Just to remind you "Loving True" is a interracial romance between a BW/WM.

Marie Rochelle

Working out.....

I love watching good looking men working out at the gym sometimes I even find one to use as a muse for my books. There is just something about an attractive man that's all sweaty from a good workout that I find attractive.

So my question is what actor, singer or any other man in the public eye would want to spend a day watching as a line of sweat slowly work it's way down his body?

My interview.....

Check out my interview....

http://strictlyseductive.blogspot.com/

Saturday, June 17, 2006

One on One with Rachel Cade

1. For the readers that don’t know you’re the wonderful author of “Once is Never Enough.” What made you write that book and is there a sequel in the future?

What made me write Once Is Never Enough? Good question, I actually started writing that story originally in 1998. In fact I still have the notebook that I wrote in on in long hand:). The story itself has been revamped slightly from that version but I always wanted it to just be a scathingly erotic adventure. I hadn’t at that point ever read a novel where the two main characters had enough passion for me. So the novella was a bit experimental, it was my first and I wanted to see what I could do. I think it turned out beautifully. Even though it’s a short story the characters passion is molten hot and that’s just what I wanted it to be, two people that don’t know each other but have this irresistible attraction. The sequel is in progress.

2. What is your favorite part about your writing routine? Is there one thing you have to do before you can start a book?
Most often I don’t do research or outlines with my books. I am a bit reckless and unorganized that way but most often the characters make up the plot as the story goes
along just reacting to each other. One thing I love to do though is make Soundtracks for each of my stories on my MP3. That’s a bit of a guilty pleasure.

3. If you could pick any of your males to come to life who would it be and why?
Just one? That’s so mean! LOL. I don’t know if I could choose between Zenya and Simon ... they’re both blond and positively devastating! I would have to have them both.

4. Out of all of the books you have written which is your hottest? And who is your favorite hero and heroine?
That I think would be a tie between Once Is Never Enough and Nineteen for hottest story. My fav hero and heroine would be Zenya and Toni, they have such amazing chemistry and they’ve been with me so long:)

5. Do enjoy writing love scenes?
I do, but it’s kind of a double edged sword. With Once, it was my first book so essentially I could do whatever I wanted. It came out so good and so now I compare each of my new scenes to Toni and Zenya. I try to be as detailed and explicit as possible with my love scenes, and they tend to go on for pages. So its a challenge to keep it new,
because it always has to be new.

6. I heard that you signed book contracts with Ocean’s Mist Press and Venus Press how excited are you about that?
Very, all three are projects I completed last year, each is very different. Nineteen is a contemporary menage. A Sorta Fairytale is my first fantasy/romantic comedy and Dark Knight is a somewhat gothic paranormal, so it will be interesting to hear people’s reactions. I’m looking forward to it.

7. What made you decide to become a writer of interracial romances?
All throughout my teens I wrote romances, subtly, or perhaps not so subtly I found my heroes were not AA. I have a thing for white guys though, always have, and I love romance novels so I guess it was only a matter of time. I love it though and I will continue to write them, even if they never become ‘mainstream’

8. Is there one of your characters that you feel you relate to the best?
I think there is a little of me in all of my characters, even it’s just 1%. The character that I based most on myself was Lorna from Foreign Exchange.

9. There’s no doubt that you’re going to be a hot up and coming author with the way you can draw a reader into your books. So, who do you think is going to join you in those same ranks?
There are lots of great writers out there: Shiree McCarver, Marie Rochelle, Shelly Laurenston, Jade James, Anisa Damien. In fact all of them have more books published and or contracts than me at the moment :o I better step up my game!

10. Your time. Tell us anything you want. What new books are you working on? Do you have a blog? Webpage? What’s does the future hold for Ms. Cade?
I am doing my first chat Wednesday evening July 5 at The Romance Studio at 9 pm.
I will talk about everything so hopefully plenty will show up. I am working on my free read
Beyond Fantasy:Tequila Sunrise, its bbw with a Latin hero. I am doing edits for two projects and doing my best to finish Once Is Never Enough Part 2, Toni and Zenya are being stubborn. After that I hope to start daring to do full length novels only.

Now my interview with Aliyah Burke.....

1. What made you decide to become a writer of interracial romances?
I always wanted to be a writer. And I was becoming tired of the same old storyline of woman who needs a man to save her; I decided to create one where the woman ends up with the man because she wishes to. Because she loves him and he loves her. As far as the interracial aspect it just seemed natural to me. It is easiest for me to write what I know and experience, that true love is colorblind.

2. What is your favorite part about your writing routine? Is there one thing you have to do before you can start a book?
I like how relaxed I feel after and during it. Especially after work, ‘cause Lord knows I need to relax after that. And all the different color of pens that I get to play with and use during edits.
Before I can start a book I have to have a fresh notebook. I get easily sidetracked if there is previous writing in a place I am looking to create in.

3. If you could pick any of your males to come to life who would it be and why?
Now that’s a loaded question Marie. I love all my males. There are aspects of each and every one of them that draw me to them. So I don’t know if I could answer that. Plus my husband will read this.

4. Out of all of the books you have written who is your favorite hero and heroine?
Wow, another tough one. I honestly don’t know. They all have special places in my heart. Tyson is near the top and so is Jayde. But I couldn’t pick one of each with a definite certainty.

5. Do your characters continually talk to you or can you turn them off anytime that you want?
The women are for the most part silent. The men…well let’s just say I wish I had a mute button for them at times. They are on 24/7 and there are times they drive me nuts. The men run my life, waking me up at all hours to work on their story. You know how they are. So while I wish I could, I would miss them if they were gone.

6. I heard that you recently signed book contracts with Ocean’s Mist Press how excited are you about that?
Extremely excited. I am new to this world of e-publishing and am very thrilled to now be a part of it with OMP. And I am in very good company, congrats on your contracts with them as well.
The hero in this book just “appeared” in my head one day demanding his story be told and so I listened and here we are.

7. For the readers that don’t know you’re the wonderful author of “A Knight’s vow.” What made you write that book and are any more time travel books in your future?
Like with most of my characters, Marcus and Katrina just showed up one day. I love knights, horses, adventure and it kind of grew from there. I am currently working on the research for the second one that focuses on Nikolas, who is Marcus’ half brother. This one will be an IR time travel as well.

8. Is there one of your characters that you feel you relate to the best?
No not really. I see a bit of myself in all the heroines I have in my stories. I won’t tell you with what or how, but I do see it.

9. There’s no doubt that you’re going to be a hot up and coming author with the way you can draw a reader into your books. So, who do you think is going to join you in those same ranks?
Thank you for saying that. But I think it is more I am aspiring to join those ranks. I know you Marie will be there. You have a few books coming out with OMP as well. I am glad to see that. I really enjoy Shiree McCarver and Rachel Cade to name two. There are so many authors out there who are writing such amazing books it would be a privilege to be considered of the same caliber.

10. Your time. Tell us anything you want. What new books are you working on? Do you have a blog? Webpage? What’s does the future hold for Ms. Burke?
I am staying very busy working on more books. I have a few series that I am trying to get finished. And doing some research for others. Very busy.
No blog yet. I just started a yahoo group and am currently working on getting a webpage going. My future? Who knows, hopefully more published books. I am a military wife so my future is most often up in the air.
Thank you so much for asking me to do this, Marie. It was awesome and like usual it was great talking with you again.

Slow Seduction excerpt.

This is the second book in The Men of CCD: Clinton Campbell and Jenisha Roman. This is a rough draft.

Jenisha couldn’t believe how Clinton shuddered under her light touch. How could she not want to touch him? The sight of his muscles rippling down the long tanned torso and flat stomach taunted her to test them out. She stroked the solid wall of muscle that was his chest loving the hardness of this wonderful male positioned in front of her.

She gasped when Clinton’s hand cupped her swollen left breast in one large hand. He rubbed his thumb across the hard nipple. She closed her eyes at the wonderful sensation. Falling back on the bed she allowed Clinton to cover her body with his hairy one.

Cool air brushed her inner thighs as long masculine fingers showed her gown further up her thighs. Clinton spread her legs and got comfortable between them. They both moaned at the same time at the first feel of him against her. He thrust the thickest part of his body to hers trying to get closer to her heat, but her underwear and his pants hindered his wishes. Resting his elbows on either side of her body Clinton joined their mouths for a warm, erotic, long, drugging, kiss. He used his tongue as a weapon inside her mouth and she savored the hint of coffee on his tongue. She moved her hand up his strong back lightly digging her short nails into his skin.

Clinton growled in the back of his throat. “Oh baby how did you know I would like that?” He grunted on her neck. He eased the straps of her nightgown down her arms to her waist exposing two plump breasts. Filling his hands, he cupped the full dark brown mounds squeezing and massaging them before taking a hard nipple into his mouth. He sucked on one nipple until it was rock hard then moved on the other one. By now, she was twisting around on the bed begging him to end her aching.

A small excerpt from "Taken by Storm"

I wanted to get everyone another taste of my first IR romance that will soon be released by Ocean's Mist Press called "Taken by Storm.

Please let me know what you think.

Taken by Storm

Shaking off his grip, she took a step back toward the open doorway. She wasn’t going to let Storm force her into doing something that she wasn’t ready to admit to yet. “No, I’m keeping my date with Brian. I thought about him a lot last night and I don’t think I’m giving him a fair chance. So I’m going to spend as much time as I can with him while I’m here.”
“Who knows,” she shrugged. “Maybe April is right and we’ll be related before you know it.”
Syleena waited for Storm to blow up, but instead he just stood by the edge of the table and stared at her. There was almost an eerie calmness to his face and eyes. She wrapped her arms around her body at the sudden chill in the room.
“Don’t do it Syleena,” Storm threatened. “I’ll let you us Brian as shield a little longer, but don’t ever think you’ll walk down the aisle with him.”
“I’m not your sister. You can’t give me orders and expected me to obey them. I may be a guest in your house, but that doesn’t make you my keeper.” Syleena snapped. She ran out of the room upstairs to her bedroom.
“Oh, I don’t want to be your keeper Syleena and you’ll figure that out soon enough.” Storm muttered.

Staying busy

Sorry. I haven't posted in a couple of days. I have been so busy working on the sequel to Loving True called Slow Seduction. So far I think its pretty good. It's another IR romance. This time te two main characters are Jenisha Roman and Clinton Campbell. You get a peek at them in Loving True and after writing briefly about them. They were calling for their own story. I can't deny them their wish so I started working on them a few months back.

In addition, I'm working on a IR story about a very sexy cop. I haven't gotten that far on this story yet. I think I finished chapter four yesterday. I only work on this one when Slow Seduction starts to turn into writer's block for me.

Well, just wanted to update you on what was going on with me.

Until next time.

Loving True excerpt

Everyone here's a small excerpt of Loving True. I'm still not quite finished with it yet, but I wanted everyone to get a feel for my hero Hayward Campbell.

Let me know what you think.

Chapter One
Construction industrialist Hayward Campbell walked across the porch of his newly remolded home and squinted in the bright morning sunlight. It was July, and up in the mountains it meant scorching sun and cool breezes. He let his robe hang open, enjoying the breeze across his naked chest, and the slight flapping of his green silk boxers against him. He sighed and stepped on the dew covered grass, the soft green grass felt good to his bare feet as he sauntered along.
He was in no hurry, the peace fullness of his cabin was the thing he needed, and hopefully in time, it could help to mend his battered heart. Nothing could ever fix the damage that she had done. But if what everyone said was true, maybe he could learn to live with it.
Hayward slowed his gait. Unconsciously he caught the edge of his robe and pulled it together. Someone had moved in the house next door because the For Sale sign was gone. He felt a burst of anger at the intruder; this was his peace of heaven. Who would dare invade his paradise?
How could he not notice someone was moving in next door? Was he so locked away inside this house that not once did the sound of a moving truck echo through his ears? Just how long had the For Sale been missing from the yard? A month? A week? He really couldn’t remember the last time he saw the tan sign next door. His real estate broker had tried to make the owner an offer for him, but the guy never would accept any of his offers.
He had lost count how many females had rented the house only to leave after two months of living there. Rural Montana wasn’t a place most women want to live in the first place, so he still didn’t until why so many moved in next door.
There weren’t any clothing stores or restaurant for miles and he loved that. The unfortunate women who had moved next door found out rather quickly and moved rather quickly.
The further away he was from the fast paced speed of the city the calmer his life was. That kind of life had cost him something precious and he wasn’t about to be pulled back into the lifestyle again for anyone, no what how much his family wanted it.
His brother called him last week and tried to coach him into coming back for a little visit, but he turned him down instantly. Now, he loved his brother however it was past time Clinton stopped trying to heal his wounds. His like the pain the memories caused him, it made him realize how being focused only on money shattered his life.
Rubbing the side of his eyes with the back of his hand, he blinked some of the sleep from his dark blue eyes and wondered about his new neighbor. Would it be another woman this time? The last females who had lived there within six months of each other thought he might need a little ‘extra’ neighborly hospitality, but he shot their ideas rather quickly. He didn’t move out here to find a warm body to his bed doing the winter months.
Hayward couldn’t want to find out who was the next person was that decided to take on the chance of living in that huge house next door. It didn’t matter if it was a family, a man, or a woman. As long as they left his to his own devices he would be the best neighbor that anyone could ask for. He was about to turn and go back into the house the sound of a speeding car coming down the street caught his attention.
A firecracker red Mustang pulled up into the driveway next door and the roaring engine became a soft purr before it was shut off. Well, his question was about to be answered in a few seconds. Please don’t let it be another lonely female looking for a man, because he wasn’t about to fit into the role ever again in his life.
The car door swung open then as he watched, a pair of well-toned cocoa legs appeared, followed by a nicely firm bottom encased in blue jean shorts. She got out of the car, stretched, took in a long full breath, and his blood warmed at the sight. He would swear a plain white t-shirt never looked so good.

A bright new week

I'm really hoping to get another excerpt from one of my books posted today or no later than tomorrow. I've been so busy this past weekend that I haven't had any free time for myslef, but I do want to post something else for everyone to read.

Just keep an eye out.

Thanks!

Loving True/Slow Seduction

First, I have to let you know that Loving True is my baby. I love Hayward Campbell so much. I think he's a perfect alpha male with all the flaws that comes with being such a strong personality type. Now don't get me wrong this guy has FLAWS! It's going to take a very strong and supportive woman to deal with all the craziness and maddness that he'll toss her way.

I believe I found that woman in True Williams. True has her own personal problems that she has to get over from her past and learning to trust again is a BIG part of it. However, I feel these two people are meant to be the next super IR couple.

I finished this book last year, but I haven't sent it off to OMP yet. I wanted to go over it one more time to make sure everything looked perfect.

In addition to Hayward being a super HOT alpha male. He has an equally hot semi-alpha male brother named Clinton Campbell. He has his own hot story called Slow Seduction. This story is also finished, but I wanted to check it one more time too.

I know that Hayward and Clinton Campbell will make a wonderful addition to the new IR romances on the market out there today in e-publishing.

I'll let everyone know when I've submitted these two book and what the outcome is.

Busy day.

Well, I just want to thank all the people who keep coming by and posting to my blog. You really don't know how much it means to me. I love reading what everyone has to say.

Today was a busy day for me. I added three new chapters to a sequel I'm working on, but I've to start researching a new book that I'm have a rough draft for. So far it has gotten pretty good feedback from my critique partners.

Monday, February 20, 2006

Today has been a good day.

I've had a pretty good day. I got to work on my mss at lot while I was at work today. When I came home I got to type a lot of it in the computer. Hopefully, I'll be able to add at least three more chapters to the other mss I'm working on.

Well, that's all I have for now.

BTW I might be able to post another small excerpt of My Deepest Love later on in the week.

My Deepest Love excerpt

Here's a quick excerpt of the new mss that I'm working on. Please over look the typos. It's a very rough draft.

Chapter One

Traci Wells stared at the cell phone in her hand in disbelief. “I can’t believe she cancelled on me again.” She huffed shoving the phone back in the gym bag. “She knows we work out together three times a week. How could Cherise schedule another meeting?”
Getting out of the car she slammed the door and stormed into the local fitness club. She stopped at the desk signed in on the clipboard and then headed to the workout room. Pausing in the doorway, Traci watched the other members of all shapes and sizes sweating to the beat of their individual music. At her left a family was using the bikes as part of their cardio working out. A young woman in her twenties walked in front of them heading to her step class at the end of the hall. She noticed a couple of body builders using the weights through the glass window behind the bikes. Why would they want to have that much muscle on their bodies?
Sighing she made her way over to the mats, so she could stretch before the aerobics class. If she didn’t love potato chips the gym wouldn’t ever be a part of her life. But she needed a way to work off her favorite snack, so here she was. Her best friend suggested the low fat kind, but what’s the thrill of eating a plain chip? If she was going to cheat she would do it the right way. Tossing the bag to the side Traci fell to the mat already hating the night ahead.
After class tonight, she would have over to her sister’s work and give her the riot act. Cherise always found a way to back out the last minute when it came to going her with her. It was supposed to be a sisterly work out plan, but her big sister wasn’t keeping up her part of the deal.
Sure, she knew that Cherise stayed busy with the antique shop, but she needed more than that in her life. How did ever except to find that man she was always talking about if she stayed hid away in that shop?
Pushing her sister to the back of her mind, Traci folded one of her legs in front of her and reached over to touch her opposite toe. She loved stretching before her work out. It made the routine so much easier to follow. The step class she signed up for was really fast paced and it could break a weaker person in the same day. She had been in this class almost two months now and she loved it.
Moving her legs around, she reached for the other leg and felt the pull of her muscles getting ready for another nice of fun. She didn’t know if she really like working out as much as she enjoyed staring at all the gorgeous guys that came here. This was the hot spot for the best looking guys in town. Taking a quick glance around the crowded room, she noticed the guy she really looked it wasn’t here tonight.
She had never been into picking up guys at the club or the gym, but after taking a glance at him in those tight black gym shorts, she changed her mind quickly. But she didn’t have enough nerve to approach him, so she just stared at him from afar. Anyway, Cherise would have a fit she knew she even looked at the guy in the first place.
* * * *
Zack Drace was coming from his nightly kickboxing class when he noticed the woman again over on the mats stretching her sexy body. He knew he needed to head home, but he couldn’t resist taking a peek at her. Tonight the shoulder length brownish black hair was pulled into a tight bun shoving off her tempting neck. A white sports bra and matching short highlighted her chocolate brown skin. It showed off all her delicious curves. Walking over to an empty table, he found a seat where he could watch her without being detected. His interest in this one particular woman shocked him because out of all his brothers he favored red heads. Glancing at his watch Zack noticed his class had ended early, which meant he had at least ten extra minutes to watch her.
Leaning back in the chair, he pulled his water from his gym bag and took a quick drink. He always carried extra water with him because his kickboxing class always too a little extra out of him. He loved coming to the gym to work out and when his younger brother Richard had the chance he would come with him. Screwing the top back on his water, he sat it on the table and watched the object of his interest finish her stretching, then stand her. It didn’t go over his head that he wasn’t the only man checking out her sexy body and for some reason that bothered him. However, she seemed totally oblivious to him and the other men running their eyes up and down her body. She adjusted her sports bra and picked up her sky blue gym bag off the floor and turned in his direction.
Zack rested his back against the seat and tried to think of a way to get her into a conversation. He didn’t even know if she would be interested in dating a white man, but he could at least test the waters with a quick hello. He saw that she was getting closer to him, so he coughed to clear his throat. He didn’t want his voice catching when he was trying to impress her.
“Hi” He said the second she was within hearing range.
She paused in mid-step and started down at him. Her whiskey brown eyes blinked, then a smile spread across her full mouth. “Hi.” She whispered back and then she continued to the step class behind him.
Turning around in the seat, he noticed how the short hugged her well-defined bottom. Yes, there were some definite possibilities there if he could go by the look her saw in her eyes. The alarm went off on his watch and he cursed under his breath, Lee was going to kill him. This was the second time this month was he would be late for the Drace brother’s Wednesday night dinner.
Zack got up from the car and snatched his gym bag off the floor. Oh well, he didn’t care because he finally got to speak to the goddess in the white workout outfit. He hoped that she would be back tomorrow. Maybe then, he could introduce himself and see where things went from there. Whistling he strolled toward the front doors and went out with thoughts of her in his mind.

My Deepest Love

I just realized I have been so busy that I haven't updated my blog in a while. I've my newest IR mss called My Deepest Love. So far I've been able to write it without any huge problem coming into my path.

I'll probably will make it into a series like I mentioned in my last post. The others characters in the book are screaming for me to do so and how can I deny them what they want most out of life?

If I get a chance I'll post a little excerpt for everyone to read.

Creative Juices

For the past couple of months I've been thinking about starting a new mss, but I didn't know where to begin. Several times I started only to stop again after the first couple of pages didn't look so hot.

Well, yesterday something clicked in my head and I was finally able to get something down in the computer. I have to say that Chapter one of my new mss does look pretty good.

I'm thinking about turning it into a series, but I haven't worked out all of the details yet.

Here's a question to you. Do you as a reader enjoy reading series? Or would you rather just visit the main characters once and move on?

The Perfect Storm

While I was working on my book I needed to use someone as my muse for Storm. He was such a alpha male and I wanted someone with a strong personality, so I chose Julian McMahon from Nip Tuck. He plays Dr. Christian Troy. I think he would make the perfect Storm with his dark looks. I just thought of him without the hint of an accent, because he's a hottie.

So, here's my question for you. For those of you who read my two excerpts who did you envision as Storm?

Cover Models vs No Cover Models

I have a question for anyone who wants to answer it. How important are cover models when you decide to purchase a book? Are you more eager to spend your money on a IR book when there's an IR couple on the front? Or would you rather if just be a nice picture with a title and you can envision the couple in your mind?

Synopsis Hell......

It seems like just when you think there's a light at the end of the tunnel something gets pushed in the way to block it out. The thing blocking my all knowning light is my synosis for my book Taken By Storm.

I finally typed THE END a few days ago and I saw so happy that I took a few days off just to enjoy doing that for the second time for one of my books. Then all of it went down hill when I realized I had to do a Synopsis for my book.

I can't believe how hard doing this is. I thought I had problems with my first Synposis well this second one is killing me more than the first.

It's so hard to pick out the best parts of the book break them down and write about them to draw an editor's attention. Like what should you use...what shouldn't you use.

It just goes on and on. However, it one the things a writer has to do, but it's killing me.

Am I the only one who hates the S-word? Please tell me I'm not.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope everyone had a wonderful 2005 and is ready to get head first into 2006 like I am.

I had a very surprising 2005 that I was about to finish two novels last year. Right now, I'm woking on revisions for both of my novels Loving True and Taken by Storm.

As everyone already knows Taken By Storm is the one I'm working on at the moment. I finished it last month and now I'm going back to make sure everything works well together. I sent a deadline for myself to finish all the revisions by the end of this month, so I can submit it to an e-publisher. I've tried the regular mass market with my first book without any luck. I hope that an e-publisher will fall in love with my characters like I have.

In addition, I've started working another book that going to be part of a series that I want to do. I think so far the first five chapters look pretty good, but I'm going to put it on the back burner until I get Taken By Storm ready to send it.

Until next time have a wonderful New Year and keep reading all those amazing IR romance books. Hope one day you'll be reading one of mine.

Feel free to post about this blog or any of the ones from 2005.
