Creative Juices

For the past couple of months I've been thinking about starting a new mss, but I didn't know where to begin. Several times I started only to stop again after the first couple of pages didn't look so hot.

Well, yesterday something clicked in my head and I was finally able to get something down in the computer. I have to say that Chapter one of my new mss does look pretty good.

I'm thinking about turning it into a series, but I haven't worked out all of the details yet.

Here's a question to you. Do you as a reader enjoy reading series? Or would you rather just visit the main characters once and move on?

The Perfect Storm

While I was working on my book I needed to use someone as my muse for Storm. He was such a alpha male and I wanted someone with a strong personality, so I chose Julian McMahon from Nip Tuck. He plays Dr. Christian Troy. I think he would make the perfect Storm with his dark looks. I just thought of him without the hint of an accent, because he's a hottie.

So, here's my question for you. For those of you who read my two excerpts who did you envision as Storm?

Cover Models vs No Cover Models

I have a question for anyone who wants to answer it. How important are cover models when you decide to purchase a book? Are you more eager to spend your money on a IR book when there's an IR couple on the front? Or would you rather if just be a nice picture with a title and you can envision the couple in your mind?

Synopsis Hell......

It seems like just when you think there's a light at the end of the tunnel something gets pushed in the way to block it out. The thing blocking my all knowning light is my synosis for my book Taken By Storm.

I finally typed THE END a few days ago and I saw so happy that I took a few days off just to enjoy doing that for the second time for one of my books. Then all of it went down hill when I realized I had to do a Synopsis for my book.

I can't believe how hard doing this is. I thought I had problems with my first Synposis well this second one is killing me more than the first.

It's so hard to pick out the best parts of the book break them down and write about them to draw an editor's attention. Like what should you use...what shouldn't you use.

It just goes on and on. However, it one the things a writer has to do, but it's killing me.

Am I the only one who hates the S-word? Please tell me I'm not.

HAPPY NEW YEAR

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

I hope everyone had a wonderful 2005 and is ready to get head first into 2006 like I am.

I had a very surprising 2005 that I was about to finish two novels last year. Right now, I'm woking on revisions for both of my novels Loving True and Taken by Storm.

As everyone already knows Taken By Storm is the one I'm working on at the moment. I finished it last month and now I'm going back to make sure everything works well together. I sent a deadline for myself to finish all the revisions by the end of this month, so I can submit it to an e-publisher. I've tried the regular mass market with my first book without any luck. I hope that an e-publisher will fall in love with my characters like I have.

In addition, I've started working another book that going to be part of a series that I want to do. I think so far the first five chapters look pretty good, but I'm going to put it on the back burner until I get Taken By Storm ready to send it.

Until next time have a wonderful New Year and keep reading all those amazing IR romance books. Hope one day you'll be reading one of mine.

Feel free to post about this blog or any of the ones from 2005.
