Crossing the Railroad...preview...New book coming from Marie Rochelle

Prologue

The woman stood silently in the shadows as she watched the two people inside the bedroom. She couldn’t believe after she had practically threatened him to stay away from that slut he hadn’t listened to her. Why did he want to embarrass her? She had spent most of her life in love with Bill Richardson. Hell, she had even tricked him into marrying her right after they finished college. Because when she first laid eyes on him she couldn’t imagine a time that he wouldn’t be in her life. .
She had struck with him all through those long, drawn out law school classes and gave up her dream of being an English teacher just to help him study for his dream. Bill actually thought back then she had been doing it for him, but he was wrong. She had set her sights on him the day he gave the speech to the entire student body the second week of school.
Anna Richardson’s gray eyes hardened into cold steel as she listened to her husband’s rich baritone voice whisper repeatedly how much he loved the mocha skinned beauty he was having sex with in their bed.
How could he possibly want Danielle Simmons when he was married to her? Sure, she only stayed with him for the past fifteen years because he was one of the most salt after attorney in Georgia. She had gotten tired of his hands being on her body years ago, but how dare he disgrace her with their housekeeper?
Sure back in college she noticed the black women Bill dated when she was setting her sights on her, yet she didn’t think much of it. Didn’t everyone break out and do different things when they left home? Drink a little more, experiment with lifestyles that they didn’t under their parents’ roof? However, after a person graduated all of that stuff fell into the background as their adulthood approached.
She continued to hide in the dark hallway while her husband made love to Danielle. She had hated Danielle the second she laid eyes on her. There was just something so sweet and alluring about the younger woman. Why hadn’t she stood her ground and fired the housekeeper? She wondered how long this had been going on. Hell, she didn’t want Bill anyone. Honestly even before Danielle entered the picture her husband had been asking for a divorce, but she wasn’t going to let him leave her. She wasn’t the best years of her life for him and he owed her big time. If she was miserable in their marriage then she was doing to make damn sure he was too. No, there wasn’t going to be an out for her dear old husband.
However, the more she thought about it the writing was on the wall about her husband’s feeling for Danielle. Bill had always found ways to be around Danielle since the first day she started working for them. When she confronted her husband late last year about his eagerness to help their attractive housekeeper Bill just blew her off, but she wasn’t crazy. Her husband was in love with that woman he was now in their bed with. Without a doubt, she knew it was the truth because Bill never sounded like on the rare occasions they had sex.
She wanted to be more upset about Bill was cheating on her. Feel the need to run in there and jerk his perfectly tanned body off Danielle’s, but truthfully she didn’t give a damn. All she wanted from her husband was the life he accustomed her to.
“I’m not going to let that tramp take away my wealth. It took me years to get here and I’ll do anything to make sure that it doesn’t happen,” she promised. Anna took one last look at the couple in bed and then made her way down the stairs and out the front door.
Chapter One

Bill Richardson’s collapsed next to the beautiful woman next to him as a moan of ecstasy slipped through his lips. He couldn’t believe how quickly he had fallen in love with Danielle, but he didn’t want things to end between them. In reality, he only wanted to make them better and there was only one way to do that. Reaching down at the end of the bed he covered them with a light sheet and reached for the woman he had made his life better since she walked through the front door.
“I’m going to divorce Anna,” he whispered kissed the side of Danielle’s neck pulling her sweaty body closer to his damp one.
Danielle snuggled closer and ran her slim fingers through his chest hair. “You know that she’ll never let you leave her for me. We just have to enjoy what we have.”
“No,” he shouted and then lowered his voice when Danielle flinched in his arms. He never wanted her to be scared of him. He cared about her way too much for that. “I want more than an hour in the afternoon with you. I’m in love with you and I’m going to marry you,” Bill insisted stroking Danielle’s smooth back with his fingers. He loved how silky her skin was. She was everything he wanted in a wife.
“Bill, you’re living in a dream world. You’ve been married to Anna since you graduated from college. You’ve built a life with her. I know you’re attracted to me, but that’s it.”
He heard the sadness in Danielle’s voice and it tore at his heart. How could she think he wasn’t madly in love with her? Anna wasn’t a wife to him anymore. All she wanted to do was throw parties and spend his money her snappy attitude towards him had gotten old years again. He was pushing for a divorce every day and she wasn’t having it. Something had to come to and end and soon because their living arrangements was getting old.
“Don’t you want to be my wife?” he questioned.
“Of course, I do,” Danielle replied quickly staring into his eyes. ”But we need to be realistic about this and our situation. I’m your housekeeper and I’ve a child from a previous marriage. How will your family, friends and co-workers think about you leaving Anna to be with me?”
How could Danielle doubt his feelings for her? Hell, he was concerned about what anyone else thought about them being together. He only thought was about if she wanted to be with him and if she was willingly to wait until he made it happen.
“You know that love Joy like she was my own daughter. She’s such a sweet little girl. After I divorce Anna I want to adopt her legally as soon as we get married,” Bill insisted.
Danielle raised up and gawked at him. “Are you serious?” she stammered.
“I’m not playing with you Danielle Simmons,” Bill grinned. “I love you more than anything in this world. I’m going to have my lawyer change my will so everything will be left to you and Joy.”
Soft fingers pressed against his mouth, “I don’t want to hear about that. I’m not thinking about anything happening to you. It would break my heart if you weren’t around for our baby.”
Baby?
Bill removed Danielle’s fingers from his mouth and sat up in the bed, “Are you pregnant?” He whispered staring to pair of killer hazel eyes. He honestly believed Danielle’s eyes were the first thing he fell in love with when he interviewed her for the job.
“Yes,” she replied in a soft voice, “Are you happy about it?”
He was lost for words. How could she think he wouldn’t be out of his mind with happiness? “Baby, I’m more than happy about this. You’ve made me feel like I’m finally going to have the family that I deserved,” Bill exclaimed pulling Danielle against his chest.
“I was a little worried,” Danielle confessed in a low voice against his heart.
Moving Joy back a little, he brushed the hair out of her face so he could look down into her gorgeous face. “Why would you be worried?”
Shit, he was the one always troubled Joy would drop him for a man closer to her own age. God, he would be forty-two in a couple of month and Joy was just twenty-five. Why would she want to stay with someone as old as him and to make matters worst he wasn’t going to get any younger?
“You’re married and sleeping with your black housekeeper. Why wouldn’t I be?”
“Baby, you’re more than the housekeeper,” he corrected. “You’re the woman I’m in love with. How many times do I have to tell you that?” Bill exclaimed. Reaching out, he placed his hand on Danielle’s still flat stomach. “I want to be there for every moment in our child’s life.”
Danielle placed her fingers over his and smiled. “I want the same thing, but are you sure Anna will let you leave her?”
“Anna isn’t going to have a say in anything that I do after today. She made her feelings about me clear a long time ago. We haven’t been in love for years and I’m beginning to think she never loved me in the first place,” Bill sighed removing his hand. “We better get dressed. It’s almost time for Anna to come home. I don’t want you to be here when I talk to her.”
Tossing the light sheet off his body, Bill climbed off bed and watched Danielle as she slid out of bed and proceeded to get dressed. “You’re so gorgeous. I can’t wait until you’re my wife.”
Fixing her clothes, Danielle came over to him and gave him a quick kiss on the mouth. “Do you know how much I love you?” The sincerity in her words warmed his heart.
“I think I do because I feel the same way,” he smiled then moved back from the tempting woman in front of him. “You really better go. I need to change the bed and remake it before Anna comes home. I’ll call you later after I finish talking with her.”
“Are you positive that everything is going to be okay?” Danielle questioned as he walked her to the door.
“Baby, I’m sure Anna wouldn’t be pleased, but she’s strong and with a nice settlement from me she’ll leave us along.” Bill walked down the steps with Danielle at his side. Pausing by the front door, he gave Danielle one last kiss and then opened the door. “Stay home tonight. I’m pretty sure Anna will toss me out and I’ll need a place to stay.”
“You’re more than welcome to stay with me. Joy knows that we’re in love and she’ll love to have you over there. She loved it the last time you read her a bedtime story.”
Danielle walked out the door and glanced at him over her shoulder. “I love you.”
“I love you too, baby,” Bill whispered then closed the door.
* * * *
Sitting down at her kitchen table, Danielle watched as he her eight year old little girl playing on the floor with her Baby Alive doll. Bill had brought it for her birthday last week and Joy didn’t go anywhere without it.
Sometimes when she looked at her daughter she saw traces of Joy’s father. Chris had loved their little girl from the second she was born. He did everything with her until the day he died. What healthy twenty-eight year old male dropped dead from a heart attack driving home from work?
Joy had been five years old when her father died and her daughter had handled it better than her. After Chris’ death she had to find a job, but she hadn’t worked field for so long that getting a good job was near impossible.
For a couple of years she had worked odd jobs until landing the one at the Richardson’s as their housekeeper. The second Bill Richardson opened the door the attraction sizzled between them, but she ignored it for the longest time.
She never wanted to be labeled the other woman, but late one night her car wouldn’t start in the pouring rain and he offered her a ride home. Joy was spending the night with her grandparents, but she wanted to be home just in case her little girl called and wanted to come home earlier.
After Bill had gotten her home safely, she offered him a cup of coffee as a thank you for giving her a ride and he accepted before the words were completely out of her mouth.
She’ll never forget how their relationship began. She was at the kitchen cabinet reaching for two coffee cups when Bill wrapped his arms around her waist and started kissing the back of her neck. It turned out to be the best night of her night. She shouldn’t think that away, but she couldn’t help it.
“Mr. Richardson, we can’t do this. You’re married and I work for you,” she moaned turning her neck to give him better access.
“I’ve been separated from Anna for the past five years. She won’t sign the divorce papers.” Bill whispered as his fingers unbuttoned the front of her white shirt.
“This isn’t right.”
“Yes, it is.” Bill disagreed as his fingers worked on the front clasp of her bra. “We both feel it and it would be a shame not to act on it.”
Danielle flung her head back against Bill’s shoulder when the pad of his thumbs played with her swollen nipples. “Please,” she panted brushing her butt across his thick erection.
“Please what,” his hot breathed whispered in her ear. “Do you want me to stop?” Bill removed his hand off her breast and had them hovering above her throbbing nipples.
Grabbing Bill’s hands Danielle placed them back on her heaving breast. “Please don’t stop,” she begged.
“Sweetheart, I plan on loving this beautiful body of yours all night long and well into the morning,” Bill promised spinning her back around. He quickly stripped her out of her clothes until the only thing she was wearing was a pair of black high heels.
As she tried to remove them Bill pushed her hand away, “Don’t. I’ve fantasies about making love to you in those for months.”
“Really,” she exclaimed watching Bill strip until he was a naked as she was.
A light dusting of brown hair covered his body going down to the huge cock that was pointing right at her. “Mr. Richardson, I can tell you’re more than ready.” Danielle purred brushing her thumb over the tip.
Bill’s erection jerked and swelled even more, she raised shocked eyes to him. “Wow.”
“What can I say? He likes you.” Bill uttered removing her hand. “But if you don’t stop touching him, he won’t make it much longer.”
“Baby, I’m sorry,” she apologized wrapping her arms around his neck and gave him a long wet kiss. “Is that better?”
Growling in the very back of his throat, Bill picked her up and laid her down on the island behind them. “I can’t wait until I learn every inch of this brown perfect paradise that you call your body.”
Danielle leaned back on her arms and looked up at Bill noticing the heated look in his bluish-green eyes. “We can’t make love here. It’s too out here in the open.”
“No, it isn’t,” he whispered covering her softer body with his hairy one. “I want to see all of your gorgeousness when I want make love to you.” Spreading her legs, Bill slipped the tip of his thick erection inside of her.
“Damn, sweetheart, you’re so tight,” he panted adding another inch.
She couldn’t think as Bill kept going deeper and deeper inside of her wetness until he was balls deep. Sweat dripped from both of their bodies as he thrust in and out of her at a pace she didn’t know was possible.
“Danielle, you feel so good. Once isn’t going to be enough for me.” Bill swore as he wrapped her legs around his waist increasing his speed even more. The only sounds in the kitchen were the sweat covered bodies coming together again and again.
* * * *
“Mommy, what’s for dinner? Joy’s asked cutting into her memory snapping her mind back to the present.
“How about pork chops?” She suggested smiling over at her daughter. Joy was such a pleasure to be around. She couldn’t ask for a better child. Joy was the kid most parents dreamt about having. She never caused her any problems and was always there to help out anyway she could.
“With apple sauce on the side and macaroni and cheese,” her daughter’s young voice asked hopefully.
“I think I can do that.” Danielle agreed as she got up from the table.
* * * *
Bill was going more pissed by the minute back at his house. Why was Anna making this so hard for him? He knew that she wanted out of the loveless union as much as him probably more. Yet, she was fighting for it like their marriage was the best thing it the world.
“I’m not giving you a divorce, so you can marry that woman. I don’t care if you’re sleeping with her, but Danielle will never be your wife.”
“Anna, we aren’t a couple anymore,” Bill flung back, hoping to get fall break through what ever wall his wife was trying to build up. When would Anna understand that their marriage ended years ago? “I want to move on with my life. Danielle is pregnant and I want to make a family with her, Joy and our baby.”
“That bitch is pregnant with your child!” Anna yelled lunging for him. “She isn’t taking anything from my child.”
Stunned, Bill moved back from the hate shooting from his wife’s eyes. “You’re pregnant?”
“Who’s the father?” As far as he knew Anna wasn’t dating anymore.
“Honey, you are,” she smirked as she ran her hand over her washboard stomach. She was looking at him like the cat that swallowed the canary.
Anna was lying! He hadn’t spent a moment in her bed since Danielle came into his life. She was the only woman he was making love to and Anna knew that.
“Anna, why are you lying to me?” Bill demanded. “We haven’t been together for years.”
His wife’s thin lips kicked up into a nasty sneer. “My dear husband, you honestly don’t remember us having sex?”
“No, because it’s a lie,” he snapped. “I haven’t been sexually intimate with you in years. You aren’t my type and you know it. I’m in love with Danielle and I’m going to divorce you so I can marry her. We have talked about this before. Why are you trying to lie now to hold on to me? I’m not going to fall for this like. Why don’t you stop now before you dig a hole that you can’t get out of?”
“Bill, don’t you recall that vivid wet dream you had about two weeks ago?”
No, this can’t be happening to him! Shit, this wasn’t real. Falling down into the chair behind him, Bill felt his heart as it dropped to his knees. “I thought I was making love to Danielle,” he groaned. “I was sick with a high fever and the flu. You took advantage of me.” “I did no such thing.” Anna denied. Her voice practically had a magical sound to it as she came clean about her deceit. “I’m your wife and I want to make love to my handsome husband. There was a time that we did enough our time in the bedroom with each other. Sure, we were still in college, but like a said there was a time.”
Bill wasn’t paying attention to a word coming out of his wife’s mouth. His mind was too focused on Danielle and what her reaction was going to be about this. She was going to be distraught when he told her about this. She was already fragile but so lovingly when it came to him and their relationship. This might be the thing that ended the romance he was trying to build them the two of them.
“I can’t stay here. I’ve to go and tell Danielle about this,” he uttered jumping up from the couch. “God, I hope that I don’t lose her over this.” Bill made a speedy exit from the door before Anna could stop him.
* * * *
“Danielle, please listen to me,” Bill begged reaching for the woman that he loved but she slapped his hands away.
“Don’t touch me you bastard,” she cried brushing the falling tears away with the back of her hands. “I believed your deception. You don’t love me. You just wanted to see how it would feel to fuck a black woman.”
“Stop saying that right now,” Bill demanded wrapping his hands around her arms and gave her a small shake. “I love you and our baby. That’s why Anna did this to us. She was scared. She knew I was on my way out of that house. I still want to be with you and only you.”
”Anna isn’t going to let you go now that she’s pregnant,” Danielle sighed slipping out of his arms. He senses her immediate withdrawal and it scared the hell out of him.
“She doesn’t have any control over me. I’m going to do what I want.” Damn it to hell, he wasn’t going to lose the love of his life. Not after it too him so many years to find her.
Moving away from him, Danielle opened the front door. “Bill, you need to leave and please don’t come back. I can’t afford the stress. I’ve my daughter and now this baby to think about.”
Bill saw that he was fighting a losing battle at the moment. He wasn’t going to push her too much tonight. Because Danielle was right he had just tossed a lot at her. She needed time and some rest to process all of the details.
“Okay, I’m going to leave but I’m not giving up on us. You and Joy will be my family along with the new baby. We’re going to get through this. I love you.”
Before Danielle could shoot him down he planted a soft kiss on her mouth. He poured all the love he felt for her into it. Ending it, Bill ran his thumb over her full bottom lip. “Do you love me?” he asked moving back so he wouldn’t crowd her.
“Yes,” she answered in a low voice.
“Good. Get some sleep and we’ll talk tomorrow,” he promised. Bill turned and left with ways to win back Danielle’s trust running around in his head.
* * * *
Later that night the sound of banging on her front door woke Danielle up out of deep sleep. She flung on her robe and hurried to the door before the loud noise woke up Joy.
Without bothering to look through the peephole, she opened the door and froze. Two police officers were standing in front of her and the gloomy expression on their faces made her realize instantly the news wasn’t going to be good.
“Are you Mrs. Joy Simmons?” the young blond asked her.
“Yes,” she answered as a familiar sinking feeling started to set in. This was like a flash of her past when she got the news about Joy’s father.
“We have some bad news fro you ma’am,” the younger officer continued. “There was a shooting tonight at a local convenient store and your boyfriend was shot. We found you name listed as his emergency contacts in his wallet.”
Tears poured down her cheeks as she held onto the doorframe so she wouldn’t faint. She shook off the bad feeling. She wasn’t going to think the worst. Bill was fine there wasn’t anything wrong with him. “Is he okay?” Bill wouldn’t leave her alone like Chris had. No, he promised they would be a family.
“Ma’am, we’re so sorry. He was shot during a robbery and he died instantly,” the other officer filled in.
Her knees buckled and Danielle gripped the door even tighter. “He’s gone?” She choked out.
“Mrs. Simmons, are you okay? Do you need for us to call someone for you?” the young blond officer asked concerned in his deep voice.
“No, I don’t and thank you for your kindness,” she whispered moving back as the initial shock was wearing it. Bill was dead. He wasn’t going to see his baby grow up.
“Thank you for coming by officers,” she muttered then closed the door before they could offer her help again.
The second the door closed behind her she collapsed to the floor. “Lord, why did Bill have to die?” Danielle screamed at the top of her lungs as her grief took over. She lost track of time in those early morning hours. She cried until a pair of small arms wrapped around her shaking body.
“Mama, please don’t cry. It will be okay. You still have me and the baby. Mr. Richardson wouldn’t want you to be upset. He loved us.”
Sucking up the last of her tears, Danielle pulled her little girl's body into her lap. “How did you know I was going to have a baby, Joy?”
“I heard you and Mr. Richardson.” Her daughter replied playing with the buttons on her robe. “Is Mr. Richardson in heaven with daddy?”
Kissing the top of her child’s head, she hugged Joy closer to her body. “Yes, baby he’s in heaven with your daddy.”
“I like that,” Joy replied snuggling closer. “Now daddy wouldn’t be so lonely.” Danielle blinked back a fresh set of tears as she held her beautiful daughter in her arms. Joy was going to make a wonderful older sister when the time came.
“Mama, can we name the baby Dymond if it’s a girl?”
“Why Dymond?”
“I had a dream about the baby and her name was Dymond.”
“Okay, if it’s a girl that will be her name.”
“Mama,” Joy said again.
“Yes, sweetheart,” Danielle answered closing her eyes. She rested her head against the front door. A single tear slid down her cheek and dropped on her shoulder.
“I’m going to be the best big sister in the world. Plus when I get older I’m going to get a good job and take care of all three of us.”
“Really,” Danielle whispered as she tried not to break down in front of Joy.
“I promise,” Joy uttered right before she fell asleep in her lap.

More to come soon....

Special Delivery 2: Heat Me Up

“Please hold the elevator.”
He quickly pressed the hold button and waited while the woman rushed on. She gave him a small smile as she stood next to him. “Thank you so much.”
“You’re welcome,” he replied as his finger let go of the hold button and hit touched the number for the floor he was headed for.
Stamford glanced at the woman from the corner of his eye. She looked to be in her late twenties. She was wearing a red shirt and a pair of tan pants. The rich color brought out her rich brown skin and he was surprised that he even noticed her. Her black hair was pulled into a tight bun at the back of her neck making him wonder how long it was.
African American woman usually never drew a second glance from him, because they never seemed interested in dating him back in his home town. However, something about her did make him want to strike up a conversation.
“I apologize I didn’t ask you what floor you wanted,” Stamford said looking at the woman next to him. The light floral scent coming from her was intoxicating.
“Oh, I’m running late. I didn’t even think about telling you,” she grinned. “I’m going to the tenth floor.”
Stamford press the number and wondered why he was so disappointed by the fact his elevator companion was about to get off. For some odd reason, he wanted her to stay on here a little longer with him.

Junk 'n' her Trunk coming November 6th from RRP

“Trent, you need to stop,” Khastity whispered touching his wrist.
He shook off her light touch and moved closer to her body. He was tried of trying to deny the attraction that was blazing between them. It was there when they were younger and that time they had been apart hadn’t diminished it. It was dying to break free of its self-made prison and he was going to help it escape.
As his mouth eased close to hers Khastity tried to move her head, but he caught her chin with his fingers. “You want this as much as I do. You need this as badly as I do.”
“No, don’t,” Khastity uttered, softly.
The weak plea wasn’t going to deter him from his goal. He wanted to know the sweet taste of Khastity’s mouth. He moved his mouth over hers, devouring its softness. The touch of her lips on his sent a shock wave through his entire body. Crushing her to him, he slipped his tongue past her lips into her waiting mouth. The fresh taste of her gave him an instant hard-on.
Hawk thought Khastity would fight the kiss more, but instead she wrapped her arms around his neck and returned the kiss. He slowly ran his hands down her side and then moved close to cup her ass in his hands. Leaning back on the table, he spread his legs wide and pulled Khastity between them so she could feel how much he wanted her.
“Baby, you taste so good,” he moaned against her swollen lips. “I could stay here and kiss you all day.”

Five years earlier he inadvertently caused Syleena to walk out of his door, the opportunity has presented itself for him to have another change with the dark skinned beauty with the soulful brown eyes. Can he however change his attitude towards women before more harm is done – this time?

Marie Rochelle’s TAKEN By STORM is a full length read with a plot that will have you turning the pages as fast as you can to get to the end of this fantastic novel.

Storm Hyde is very much the alpha male, dominantly knowing it all and wants it when he wants it now. After years of isolating himself from the basic emotion of loving someone just for the sake of it, he is not prepared for the knee jerk reaction his heart takes in regards to Syleena. He does everything to make Syleena his but still holds her at arms length from the real him.

Syleena has gone so long trying to outlive her parentage; she is now unwilling to mar any prospect of happiness for herself by even mentioning the facts surrounding her upbringing. When she is hurt beyond anything she has ever imagined, she is very much unwilling to give her heart away for a second time.

If you have not read Ms. Rochelle works before this is a great beginning. For old fans, be prepared for a fantastic journey into Ms. Rochelle’s world, Storm and Syleena are a force to be reckoned with, together and apart.

Contract News!!!!!

For everyone who loved my Christmas story Special Delivery, I have wonderful news. I just signed a contract for the sequel, Special Delivery 2: Heat Me Up with Red Rose Publishing. I don't have a release date or cover yet. However, when I do I'll post the information here. So, keep checking by for more details. Here's the blurb:

Stamford King was running from his past. He wanted to get as far as he could from North Carolina because the only thing there for him was bad memories of Christmas past. At first all he wanted to do was get through the joyous holiday season and let the New Year start, but a chance meeting in an elevator at Director Enterprises stopped that thought cold.
Syeshia Jones never expected to meet a drop dead gorgeous hunk the day she yelled. “Hold the elevator,” but that is what happened. She couldn’t get over her instant attraction to Stamford King.
Everything was going perfect between them until a week before Christmas. Will they be able to patch things up or will both of them be spending Christmas morning alone?

Taken by Storm coming October 20th in ebook and print

Taking a deep breath, she shook off the last of her nerves and walked the last few steps. The sight that caught her eyes made her gasp in the back of her throat. A coal black stallion with a white strip going down to its muzzle stood in the middle of the stall. His liquid brown eyes stared back at her like he was trying to decide if she was his friend or his enemy.“Why aren’t you out toward the front with the other horses?” Syleena whispered. Slowly she moved closer to the magnificent animal and she talked softly so he wouldn’t be frightened of her.“Hello there, aren’t you something to look at? I bet you get all kinds of attention with your beautiful black coat.” The horse raised his ears like he always understood what she was saying to him. Syleena bit her lip to keep coming laughing when he moved cautiously toward her voice. Only a few more inches and she would be able to touch him. “Come here, boy, will you let me touch you?” She moved her hand out slowly toward his muzzle. He moved to the edge of the door and stuck his head out at her.“See, I knew you wanted some attention form me.” Leaning in closer to the amazing animal she whispered. “I don’t want the other horses to hear, but you’re the most striking one here.” The stallion shook his head at her like he understood every word coming out of her mouth.“Do you know what you’re doing is really dangerous? What if he had tried to bite your hand?” Syleena flinched at the sound of Storm’s usual growled behind her. She noticed even the stallion moved its head back when Storm’s voice echoed around them. She wiped her hands on her jeans, then spun around to look at Storm. “Why did you do that? I was having a good time talking to him and you scare him away?”“Thunder is very dangerous. Most of the men here are scared to come within ten feet of that damn horse. Then I walk up on you and he’s practically eating out of your hand.”“Maybe I’ve a better connection with him.”“Really….? What would you call the connection-Beauty and the Beauty?"Syleena tossed one last look at Thunder, then brushed past Storm. “I don’t have stand here and listen to you insult me.”“Wait…. I didn’t mean it as an insult.” Storm yelled after her. “Stand still so I can apologize.”She didn’t want to hear it, so she kept walking toward the front of the stable. She heard Storm’s footsteps gaining on hers, but she didn’t turn around. How much more of him could she really take?“Damn it! Woman…will you slow down!” Storm hissed. His hand wrapped around her arm and jerked her back around to face him. “Will you stand still and let me apologize?”She glanced down at Strom’s fingers attached to her wrist. She was surprised by his dark tanned. How did he get so dark if he spent all his time at the office? “Let go of my arm first.” Slowly his grip eased off her arm and he moved back.“I’m sorry for what I said. I was joking, but you didn’t take it that away. How about I make it up to you with riding lessons?”Her mind tingled with the possibilities of being alone on horseback in the woods with Storm. Stop it, girl! This man doesn’t want you. “When would you want to start the first lesson?”“It’s almost dinner time so it’s too late to start now. How about later on in the week? I’ve to check my schedule at work first.”“Sounds like a plan to me.”“Do you think Brian will mind you spending so much of your free time with me?She could barley control her eye roll this time. Here we go again.“No. Brian is very understanding and he won’t care. Actually, he’ll love I’m finding things to do while I’m here for the wedding.” “Yeah…the wedding I still can’t believe Vicki’s son is your date.”“Who’s your date for the wedding?”“I don’t have one.” “You’re kidding right?”“No, I don’t have a date,” Storm replied.“Why not? I’m pretty sure you could find one at the drop of a hat. So what is the hold up?”“What if I told you the woman I wanted to take already had a date and I was jealous?” “I guess you should have asked her before the other man did, but I can’t believe you would be jealous of another man.” “Don’t you want to know who the woman is?” Syleena stood frozen in front of Storm. She didn’t know what to say. A part of her wanted to know, but the deeper part of her didn’t. It was like of she found out it would change how she looked at him.“Do you want to know?” Storm asked again moving closer to her.She took a step back and shook her head. “No….I don’t think it’s any of my business.”She didn’t fight when Storm wrapped his fingers around her upper arms and tugged her to his body. She could feel the heat from his body through the layers on clothes on their body. Syleena was so taken back that she didn’t know what to do when Storm’s lips brushed her ear.“Syleena, live a little and ask me who she is?”“I…I don’t want to….know who it is.”Dark gray eyes flashed with sudden anger before Storm’s mouth started to lower toward hers. Syleena wanted to feel guilty about wanting this kiss, but she didn’t. Storm’s firm lips were an inch from hers when she heard.“Syleena, are you in there,” Brian yelled from outside. She wrestled her body from Storm’s tight grip and stumbled backwards. What in the hell was wrong with her? She couldn’t let Storm kiss her. Pressing her hand against her chest, she took several deep breaths.“You better answer him before he comes in looking for you.”She hurried away from the temptation of Storm for the safety of Brian. “Yes, I’m in here.”“Good…I’ll come in there to you.”“Don’t come to me I’ll come to you.” She rushed out the stables right into Brian. “Brian, what are you doing here? “I thought you were helping your mom finish planning the wedding.”Brian smiled. “I left early because I wanted to take you out to dinner.” She observed him through lowered lashes. The crisp white shirt and dark slack did compliment his blond good looks. She would be an idiot to turn Brian down after what almost happened with Storm. “You look very nice, Brian.” “Thanks, so I that a yes to dinner?“Yes….Just let me go shower and change then I’ll be all yours.”“Great, do you mind if I wait for you outside in the car? I’ve to make some business calls on my cellphone.” “No, that will be fine,” Syleena said.“Let me walk you back to the house.” “Sure.” Syleena agreed. Without turning around, she knew Storm watched them every step of the way back to the house. She could feel his eye drilling a hole into the back of her head.

Jeanie Johnson and Jayha Leigh interview

Ladies,

Thanks so much for agreeing to get interviewed by me.
Thanks,
Marie

How long have you been writing; was it something you have always wanted to do?
(Jeanie) I’ve been writing for a long time but it’s always just been meanderings, it wasn’t until my late teens that I started to structure my writing into something understandable.

(Jayha) Since the US makes education compulsory, I’ve been writing since way back. It started off with ‘what I did over summer vacation’ papers and progressed to book reports, then onto history papers and before you know it I was doing thesis papers for professors. I always wanted to do something that gave me unbridled power but right now I don’t have the juice to be like an evil dictator so along with Jeanie we get to create worlds where we can run thingsJ

Who is your target audience?

(Jeanie) I’m unsure if I have one individually, together I think Momma and I are targeting the women out there in the world who have lived/survived/worked it out and those who don’t have a voice, we want to give them one, heck we want to shout out loud for them.

(Jayha) Yeah, what she said…but I’d like to add that we are our target audience being that we write books that first and foremost WE want to read. Until we’re happy with a book it doesn’t go out.

Often a writer’s first book is the toughest to write. Was this true for you? If so, what helped you get through it? If it wasn’t the first, which one was the most difficult to write? The easiest?

(Jeanie) Together our first book involved a whole lot of phone calls and emails – actually so did our last book, we just communicate a whole lot and we keep tempting each other’s reader by sending each other snippets/excerpts of what we’ve written that day, it keeps us on our toes and its entertaining as all get out and to be quite honest I don’t think it could ever be hard to work with Momma. I don’t think it was the most difficult, but with Carolina In The Storming – it was a juggernaut to conceive then to transfer from ideas to the page it was never meant to be easy because for us it was important that we truly realized the characters and the story they wanted us to share, we think we did that and that is once again all down to communication.

(Jayha) what she said…and let me just add these two points. First, we didn’t ever intend to write together. In fact, after getting rejected by EVERYBODY and their momma for Wild, Wild Mess: Atlanta, I was convinced that I was through trying my hand at writing and Jeanie was convinced that no one would want to read her prose (silly, beautiful child). And I honestly don’t recall how we ended up writing that first book…but I’m glad that we did.

When we finished HOT LIKE FIRE: the Taming and Liberation of Mariana, we figured it was a one-time deal. We never intended it to grow into a series or for the series to spawn other series, but alas it did. When we finally realized that we needed a joint website and such, we tried to be all corporate and organized and even purchased a dry erase calendar (both Jeanie and Dréa have dry-erase board fetish) where we scheduled release dates and such. After one month we realized that that was so not for us because we had to write the story that was beating at us, that sung to us, that captured our hearts. The muse has no freaking respect at all for schedules and we (and our moderators and readers) have learned to accept that. Second, before Mr. Me got us a deal with the cable company, our phone calls were running in excess of a thousand dollars per month being that we like to talk stories out.

Do you have a writing routine? What is your average writing day like?

(Jeanie) Routine is a FOUR letter word for Momma and myself, many different hours of the day could be inspiring for Momma and myself, unfortunately the MUSE is also a four letter word (literally as well! LOL) so whenever he/she decides to inspire us we just have to roll with it.

(Jayha) routine…muse…why are y’all cussing so early in the morning? Smile.

Is there any plot/setting/character that you’re dying to write but haven’t yet?

(Jeanie) Oh Marie-Rochelle, if Momma and I have fifteen hands EACH and numerous PC’s and keyboards we still wouldn’t be able to keep up with the idea’s that we have within us. So in short, YES, YES and YES! J

(Jayha) Yeah, what she said. Y’all just have no idea how many stories are in the works...we just hope y’all jump on the ride with us and ride this baby to the end.

Any advice to aspiring authors? What craft books helped you that you would recommend to aspiring writers?
(Jeanie and Jayha) Every single book someone reads is going to help a fledgling writer to write – every book will have something you love, something you hate, something you want to expand upon this can only exercise one’s imagination.

Decide if you want to write because it’s a passion burning within you or if you want to write for money. If you decide you want to write for money well, there are a whole set of regulations that come with that. If you decide you want to write because you’re your passion, know what YOU want to write. Know what you’re NOT willing to compromise on. Van Gogh didn’t sell one freaking painting during his lifetime but he kept painting and though I don’t care for his technique, I have a whole new respect for the man. It takes passion to create art especially when it doesn’t reward you financially.

What can your fans look forward to from you in the near future? What are you working on now?

(Jeanie and Jayha) We have so many series that we’re really trying to work through because we know and love every single one of our characters and we want them to have the day in the light. Right now we’re working on three different stories (that haven’t been mentioned by us just yet) as well as our individual stories/series.

What does your family think of your writing? Do they read it?

(Jeanie) Our family is slightly bewildered by what we do. I think one of cousins mentioned Danielle Steele back when I first started writing…I don’t talk to that cousin anymore…lol! J

(Jayha) My family is just amazed that I’m not rotting away in foreign prison somewhere…smile.

What do you do to amuse yourself when not working?

(Jeanie and Jayha) Is there ever a time when a writer isn’t working? But seriously, we sit around and plot world domination.

Could you tell us a little bit about yourself?

(Jeanie) I’m the spoiled baby and my Momma and sister’s are the ones that spoil me.

(Jayha) What do you mean by this word ‘spoiling’? I don’t recall spoiling you … at all. So a bit about me…I’m a full-time grad student, I work full-time (third shift) and I’m a full time sh*t starter whose been known on occasion to stagger into work…ON TIME.

What makes a great book to you? Is Happily Ever After an important aspect for you?

(Jeanie) Characters that I can identify with, a storyline that keeps me guessing, hilarity, hot love all wrapped up with a man who loves his woman like every woman needs/wants – COMPLETELY!

Jayha interrupts this question for a soapbox moment.
Although we write books that we hope anyone could get into and enjoy, we know that our biggest audience consists of women of color. Women of color tend to suffer the ills of society disproportionately (rape, poverty, ill health, single parenthood, etc) so the female readers that come to our stories have enough shit in their lives and we want to make our books a refuge of sorts.

Just my opinion but what women DON’T need is to read about more shitty fucking males who do the female wrong and more long-suffering females that allow themselves to enable the male to act like an azzhole or allow themselves to be treated like doormats. Too many women already have the cheating spouse, the deadbeat dad, the boyfriend who beats them, the boss who harasses them because they know that jobs are scarce, money issues, family issues, and a whole host of –isms. Every one of our books will have a HEA because women so desperately need that and women of color and poor white women especially need it.

Just as if you only show a child uneducated, poor role models they often will grow up to think that being uneducated and poor is normative. Too many women have grown up thinking that being treated like shit, being overlooked, being alone is normative and we don’t want that. We want women of all kinds, all sizes, all shades, all backgrounds to realize that they deserve a HEA. And yes, life is hard, no guarantees but for just a little while, in our books life can be a little bit easier, a little bit sweeter.

Do you have any indulgent behaviors? Favorite comfort foods? Favorite bath or body products?

(Jeanie) Coca Cola
(Jayha) sweet iced tea, dessert

(Jeanie) Victoria’s Secret Love Spell
(Jayha) a whole host of Carol’s daughter products

Do you have a favorite music you love to listen to? Least favorite?
(Jeanie) Everything – from Classical Music to Death Metal and everything in between, I’m a weirdo

(Jayha) I’m also a weirdo but I primarily listen to the NFL channel on my satellite radio…I rarely listen to music which is why I don’t know the titles of anything. Still, a few of my all-time fav songs are Pavarotti’s rendition of Nessun Dorma, This Woman’s Work sung by Maxwell, and of course the MNF Jingle and the Tarheel (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) fight song

You find yourself stranded on a desert island; what things could you not live without?

(Jeanie) Coca Cola, internet connection and my Momma

(Jayha) What Jeanie said except replace the Coca-Cola with sweet iced tea or citrus cooler Gatorade being that I don’t drink soda…also a bridge to another island that had an airport, an ER and a standing army you know, because I have enemies…Also selected members of my family.

Buy Now: Loving True in ebook and print

Construction industrialist Hayward Campbell walked across the porch of his newly remolded home and squinted in the bright morning sunlight. It was July, and up in the mountains it meant scorching sun and cool breezes. He let his robe hang open, enjoying the breeze across his naked chest, and the slight flapping of his green silk boxers against him. He sighed and stepped on the dew covered grass, the soft green grass felt good to his bare feet as he sauntered along.
He was in no hurry, the peace fullness of his cabin was the thing he needed, and hopefully in time, it could help to mend his battered heart. Nothing could ever fix the damage that she had done. But if what everyone said was true, maybe he could learn to live with it.
Hayward slowed his gait. Unconsciously he caught the edge of his robe and pulled it together. Someone had moved in the house next door because the For Sale sign was gone. He felt a burst of anger at the intruder; this was his peace of heaven. Who would dare invade his paradise?
How could he not notice someone was moving in next door? Was he so locked away inside this house that not once did the sound of a moving truck echo through his ears? Just how long had the For Sale been missing from the yard? A month? A week? He really couldn’t remember the last time he saw the tan sign next door. His real estate broker had tried to make the owner an offer for him, but the guy never would accept any of his offers.
He had lost count how many females had rented the house only to leave after two months of living there. Rural Montana wasn’t a place most women want to live in the first place, so he still didn’t until why so many moved in next door.
There weren’t any clothing stores or restaurant for miles and he loved that. The unfortunate women who had moved next door found out rather quickly and moved rather quickly.
The further away he was from the fast paced speed of the city the calmer his life was. That kind of life had cost him something precious and he wasn’t about to be pulled back into the lifestyle again for anyone, no what how much his family wanted it.
His brother called him last week and tried to coach him into coming back for a little visit, but he turned him down instantly. Now, he loved his brother however it was past time Clinton stopped trying to heal his wounds. His like the pain the memories caused him, it made him realize how being focused only on money shattered his life.
Rubbing the side of his eyes with the back of his hand, he blinked some of the sleep from his dark blue eyes and wondered about his new neighbor. Would it be another woman this time? The last females who had lived there within six months of each other thought he might need a little ‘extra’ neighborly hospitality, but he shot their ideas rather quickly. He didn’t move out here to find a warm body to his bed doing the winter months.
Hayward couldn’t want to find out who was the next person was that decided to take on the chance of living in that huge house next door. It didn’t matter if it was a family, a man, or a woman. As long as they left his to his own devices he would be the best neighbor that anyone could ask for. He was about to turn and go back into the house the sound of a speeding car coming down the street caught his attention.
A firecracker red Mustang pulled up into the driveway next door and the roaring engine became a soft purr before it was shut off. Well, his question was about to be answered in a few seconds. Please don’t let it be another lonely female looking for a man, because he wasn’t about to fit into the role ever again in his life.
The car door swung open then as he watched, a pair of well-toned cocoa legs appeared, followed by a nicely firm bottom encased in blue jean shorts. She got out of the car, stretched, took in a long full breath, and his blood warmed at the sight. He would swear a plain white t-shirt never looked so good.

Who will be policing who? The detective or the attorney?

EXCERPT :

Lindow looked down at the finger touching his chest and he knew that he shouldn’t do what he was thinking, but he needed to ease the stress they were both feeling. Wrapping an arm around Daria’s wrist, he tugged her to him and then slipped his free into position while his mouth captured hers.
“Daria, do you know how much I want you?” He breathed against her lips. “I have dreamt about this kiss for such a long time.”
Using his tongue he made long sweeping, swirling motions inside Daria’s mouth trying to draw the response he wanted from her. His mind raced with several different emotions from her taste to pleasure and lastly satisfaction. He knew she would taste as good as she looked.
Wanting more he eased her closer to his throbbing body hoping to alleviate some of the ache. Lindow was perfectly content to go on kissing her forever unlike Daria who was starting to fight the deeper emotions between them. He wanted to work his charm on her but she wasn’t having it.
Tearing her mouth away Daria shoved him away from her, “What are you doing?” she murmured pressing the tips of her fingers to her mouth. “We aren’t supposed to be kissing.”

Tycoon Club series Book#2 Boss Man unedtied excerpt

Fancy Shayne sat outside the closed door and wondered for the fifth time what in the hell was she doing here. Sure, the job read perfect in the paper but did she really want to apply for it. The Tycoon Club money was excellent. However, if she landed this job she could quit the club and save up money faster.
Wiping her sweaty palms down the front of her pants, she tried to calm down her racing pulse. It wouldn’t do her any good to show him how nervous that he made her. She was here to land this job not drool all over the man who was about to interview her. Headley was so wrong thinking she would get the job just because he knew her. Hell, half the time he wouldn’t even speak to her when he walked past her in town. Why would he invite her to live under the same roof as him?
No, this was a mistake. She had to get out of here before she made a huge ass out of herself. Standing up, Fancy was about to head for the entrance when the door opened in front of her. She froze to the spot as the man she had a Texas size crush on filled its doorway.
“Sorry to keep you waiting, Ms. Shayne,” Maxwell Reed said. “I was on the phone. Why don’t you come on in and we can get this interview started?”

Excerpt:

“How do you like this?” Zack whispered moving to lick the side of Traci’s slim neck tenderly. Placing her hands at the side of her head he straddled her hips tracing her body with his fingertips. “Your skin is so soft.”
Pausing at two hard nipples peeking through the see-through bra, he rubbed one between his forefinger and thumb. “Does this mean you want me?” Zack questioned loving Traci’s body’s reaction to his.
Looking into his eyes Traci nodded while her delicious body squirmed under his. “Yes, I want you,” she gasped. “You know that I do quit playing with me.”
Smirking Zack bent down and ran the very tip of his tongue across the end of her nipple. “Hmm…you taste so sweet.” He breathed against her nipple. “I love when you taste like this. It makes me want to lick and taste the rest of you.”
Whimpering Traci tried to rise off the bed, but he gently pushed her back down. “Honey, tell me what you want and I’ll do it.”
Traci was shocked at her own eagerness to tell him what she wanted, “I want your mouth.”
“Right here,” he asked brushing a thumb over the hard nipple.
“You know the answer is yes,” she moaned between clenched teeth.
“Remember your wish is my command, beautiful,” Zack whispered.
Undoing the bra he tossed to the floor, “I always did love hard candy,” he groaned taking a pointed nipple into his mouth sucking hard. Running her hands through his hair Traci kept his face against her breasts purring in the back of her throat.

Dangerous Bet:Troy's Revenge

“Mr. Christian, is everything okay this morning? You seem a little preoccupied. Is there anything I can do for you?”
Troy dropped his fingers from his temple and found his secretary standing in front of his office desk with several folders in her hand. He didn’t even know how long she had been standing there. He couldn’t get his mind off the fact that Headley had bet him she could have the entire amount of money her father owed back to him in a matter of weeks. What in the hell was she going to do to get her father’s debt paid in full?
“Mr. Christian,” his secretary’s voice chimed in again.
“Heather, I’m fine. Please just lay the files on my desk and go to lunch. There’s no need to worry about me.” He answered making eye contact with her. Troy hoped that Heather would leave without asking him any more questions. He should have stayed home and worked from the ranch like he wanted to this morning. But he hadn’t been into the office for about a week and he felt the urge to check in.
“Yes, sir,” Heather replied, placing the information down like he requested. Then she left closing the door behind her.
Picking up the file on the top, he flipped it open and read over the contract in his hand. He hadn’t tricked Douglas into signing this agreement. Headley’s father had come to him looking for help and he had given it to him, but with a deadline attached. Douglas promised him that he would have the money back within a two-year period, but he failed to live up to his end of the bargain.
How could Headley even think that he would do something to harm her father? Douglas Rose was a good, honest, hardworking man. For as long as he had known the man, Douglas never asked for a hand-out. Then the ranch started losing business.
But he wasn’t about to lose money. Not for anyone, not even Headley. He still couldn’t believe how stunning she was. A day didn’t go by that he didn’t think about those huge dark brown eyes of hers or the hourglass shaped body that he had wanted since he and his family moved to this town.
Headley was a constant temptation to him from the moment he saw her running down the trail at her house. He had been out riding and was coming back in when he saw her and everything around him stopped.
His cock had grown so hard, making it impossible to sit still on his horse. She was a vision of perfection with the way her young, perky breasts bounced underneath her white t-shirt. The matching shorts had shown off her perfect cocoa skin and ideas he shouldn’t be thinking about popped into his twenty-two year old head.
Instead of following her like his body and mind pushed him to, he had turned and headed back for his house. He had made sure no one was home before he locked himself in his room and gave his body the relief it craved.
Headley had been so young that she never realized how badly he wanted her back then. Hell, the need hadn’t left even after all of these years. His body still wanted hers with a driving need that made his gut clench. It didn’t even stop when she stormed into his den looking madder than hell and ready to slap the taste out of his mouth.
It was quite a change from the quiet and shy girl that left here looking for fame in the high paced fashion industry. He’d never forget the day he had followed Headley’s family to the bus station and watched her leave his life. It was the worst pain he had ever felt, but he never let anyone know. His feelings for Headley were private and no one else needed to know about them.
“I see you’re sitting there plotting how to bring down another family,” a feminine voice uttered from the doorway.
Troy slowly replaced the paper back into the folder and closed it. “I’m glad to see you got my message that I left on your answering machine last night. I was a little concerned you might not show up.” He replied watching as Headley came into his office oblivious to the fact that he wanted to kiss her senseless.
“Your message wasn’t a request, but a demand. How could I not come? You know that I want to save my father’s business as soon as I can and head back to New York. So, what do you want?”
Headley was going to leave?
Troy didn’t like the sound of that. He’d have to find a way to make her stay here with him and if he had to use her father to do that, then so be it. “You made a bet with me last night that you’d find a way to pay off Douglas’s off in full. I think it’s only fair that you know the entire amount. I don’t want you making a bet that you won’t have the ability to keep. Besides, making a bet with a man like me is a dangerous thing because I always play to win,” he grinned.
